I’ve already done a series on book recommendations for the various houses, which you can check out here – but I wanted to update it for this month’s series of house-related Top 5 Tuesdays!
Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme that the lovely Bionic Bookworm does. If you are interested in doing any of her topics on your blog she welcomes it! Don’t forget to check out her upcoming topics if you’re interested in participating in future Top 5’s! Be sure to check out her topics here!
Gryffindor:

The Illuminae Files by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
These books are so dramatic and full of high stakes scenarios – as a result, our main characters have to channel their inner Gryffindor in order to survive and maybe save the day. (Even if they’re not typical Gryffindors to begin with.)

Throne of Glass Series – Sarah J Maas
There’s action, adventure, fights, friendship, loyalty and betrayal, pets, seriously so much packed into this series. Our main character has to overcome struggles, but she is tough and smart. The story is a non-stop ride that will entrance any Gryffindor with a variety of characters and action-packed scenes. If you’re interested, check out my review of Throne of Glass here.

Divergent Series – Veronica Roth
The first book in the series takes place in Dauntless, the faction that is known for their recklessness and bravery. Tris must decide where she belongs, in Abnegation with her selfless family or taking a leap of faith and joining a new faction. The entire series is full of action, bravery and a question of loyalty.

An Ember in the Ashes Series – Sabaa Tahir
Laia must overcome her fears and put her life on the line for her brother. She would do almost anything to make up for her perceived shortcomings at the beginning of the book, growing into a stronger person. Elias has grown up in a place that he despises and must decide whether to risk his life to leave or embrace a future that will corrupt him. The world is vividly built and full of locals that you could spend hours exploring. If this series sounds interesting, be sure to check out my review of An Ember in the Ashes here.

Red Queen Series – Victoria Aveyard
It takes a lot of nerve, daring, and bravery to masquerade as a Silver when your blood runs red as dawn. But Mare is forced to do that and more in this series that is a blend of fantasy and dystopian. Be sure to check out my review of Red Queen here.

What books would you pick for Gryffindors? Let me know in the comments!
