The Lost Sisters by Holly Black
My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars
This novella bridges the events of the Cruel Prince with the Wicked King. It is written from Judes’ sister’s point of view and is written as a letter from Taryn to Jude. Taryn explains her motivations and justifications for her actions within the first book but doesn’t particularly add anything to the narrative that we experienced in the Cruel Prince. While we are provided with a few more details about the events, most of what occurs in this novella could have been surmised or extrapolated from the details in the book. It was short, so I didn’t feel like I wasted my time – but I also didn’t feel like I got anything particularly important out of it. It honestly is more of a summary/wrap up of the first book masquerading as a novella to refresh your memory for the Wicked King, than a novella with a brand new storyline.

Yaaaasss thank you! I wanted to change them for soo long and I was like.. break from school? Why yes, that is the perfect time to do a total overhaul. I haven’t finished replacing all of the really old reviews with the new graphics though, but slowly I’ve been changing all of them.
