My Year in Books – 2017

I was inspired by the “My Year in Books” page on Goodreads, so I thought I’d share my year with you guys and maybe you would do the same! Obviously, there is still some time left in the year, so this may change slightly but I wanted you guys to have time to post your own if you wanted before the year ended. I will definitely be updating this over the next few days so that by the 31st it is accurate (if I have time to read anything.)

I know other people track their page numbers, but I’ve never done that and I’m amazed by what this tells me!

28 pages

Wonder Woman: Rebirth #1 by Greg Rucka

Longest Book:

Winter by Marissa Meyer
827 pages

Winter by Marissa Meyer

Average Length:

397 pages

I’m pretty sure that Winter was my longest book last year as well because I decided to re-read the series earlier this year.

My Average Rating for 2017:

Book Review 4 (2)
4.2
I know I tend to rate things a 4/5, so I’m not surprised. I’m trying to be a little more critical of books that I don’t love, but still feel guilty rating any books as a 3.

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas

First Review of the Year:

Gemina by Amie Kaufman

Wow, good job on reading all of those books! My favorite book of the year was either A Court of Mist and Fury, the Hate U Give, or any book of the Freya Snow or Aspects series. I read a lot of the books on that list, but I didn’t like the Lunar Chronicles that much. I really want to read the Throne of Glass series, and I am starting on the first book now.

The Hate U Give is on my TBR but I just haven’t gotten around to reading it yet. I definitely have to!

How did you do that? U wanted to do this to, but I don’t know how to get that page on my blog? Do you care sharing that knowledge? 😁
Also, we have so many books in common! It’s almost creepy! Great reads!! 😊

I just copied a lot of the text, or typed it myself referencing what it said on Goodreads. I formatted everything myself so that it looked better than just copied and pasted from the site. For the books, I just took screenshots of my books and inserted them as pictures in my post.

The Lunar Chronicles reread was the best thing we did this year I think! It was so cool to be with the Rampion crew again, I’m totally going to do it again next summer! You had a great year in books Kyera! Congrats!

It was so fun! I’ve been trying to get my mom to read them, but she’s not cooperating. What do I do?!

Oh goodness! I don’t have a lot of experience with getting my mother to read anything 😂😂 Keep pushing the books, I guess! 😂 😂

My mom likes fantasy, so I’ve gotten her to read Throne of Glass, Ember in the Ashes and Truthwitch. (And most of the Mortal Instruments and Percy Jackson) She’s currently on the final Shades of Magic book, so I keep saying Lunar Chronicles but she’s all.. oh I don’t like space blah blah, when we watch Doctor Who. I mean really.

…we shared 31 books together, Kyera, because apparently I just counted it it all. I didn’t quite realize that you read a lot these books for the first time this year either. Like, I just assumed you had always read ACOTAR. XD It was super fun looking back at your different books and your average ratings and page length. You read some great books this year, and I think 2018 is looking pretty good too!! Wonderful post, Kyera!

Oh wow, that’s better than I thought we had done! I reread ACOTAR before I read ACOWAR earlier this year, so it wasn’t new to me.. but a lot of others were, yeah.
