Book Quotes – Top 5 Tuesday

Another Top 5 Tuesday, have you started participating yet? Shanah comes up with some really interesting prompts, so it’s really fun to participate.

Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme that the lovely Bionic Bookworm does. If you are interested in doing any of her topics on your blog she welcomes it! Here is a list of her upcoming topics if you’re interested in participating in future Top 5’s! Be sure to check out her top book quotes post here!

Top 5 Book Quotes:

I am not going to promise that these are my favourite, but I love these quotes (and they’re some of the first ones that I thought of).

“It means ‘Shadowhunters: Looking Better in Black Than the Widows of our Enemies Since 1234’.”
― Cassandra ClareCity of Bones

This one I can’t help but laugh when I read. Jace has the best one-liners and definitely makes the books for me.

“One must always be careful of books,” said Tessa, “and what is inside them, for words have the power to change us.”
― Cassandra ClareClockwork Angel

I’m sure anyone who is in the book blogging community would completely agree with this book and has a list of reads that have changed them.

“It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.”
― J.K. RowlingHarry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

You could be the smartest or the most athletic, but if it is how you use your abilities that matters – for example, a brilliant person could go on to cure cancer or create a deadly disease. (And him subtly saying that you should choose to use your abilities for good. Obviously.)

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”
― Dr. SeussI Can Read With My Eyes Shut!

I thought this was such a nice sentiment that I decided I would paint it in the library that I built in Guyana. I hope that it reinforces the importance of books.

“Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”
― J.K. RowlingHarry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

This is so important to take to heart because things won’t always be perfect but we do have the ability to find the best in a situation and be happy.

Honourable Mention:

“I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.”
― J.K. RowlingHarry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

These quotes were great, Kyera! ❤ I love it. That Jace quote was fantastic, and the Tessa quote is always brilliant. I didn't know the last Rowling quote (before the bonus), but it was quite lovely. Love your collection of quotes, Kyera! Wonderful post! 🙂
