Seriously guys, thank you. Two months ago I hit my first hundred and I felt so honoured. You don’t know how happy it makes me when someone reads a review I wrote and then tells me that my enthusiasm for the book or the way that I described it inspired them to pick up the book. There isn’t anything better than sharing a love of books with others.
On that note, I just found out that I got a job in a library. I will be an Assistant Librarian and the Youth Services Coordinator, so basically I’m the librarian in charge of the children’s and young adult sections of the library. It’s a tiny little library, but their plan is to revitalize that section of the library and they actually thought I was the best person for the job! It’s only part-time, so I’m going to have to find a second job to be able to afford to get my degree in Library Sciences but I’m so excited to be on my way! (I mean I have to apply to school now… but you know, sort of on my way?)
My experiences with all of you guys (and building the library in Peace Corps) really pushed me to pursue this path. I honestly don’t know if I would be here, doing this right now if I hadn’t been accepted into such a wonderful bookish community and fallen in love with talking about books to anyone who will listen. (Thank you to everyone who allowed me to ramble, as I’m prone to do.) I’m sure many of you understand, but as an introvert, I never really talked to people (or let’s be honest gushed) about the books I was reading and in love with – so this is such an amazing experience.
I am so thankful for each and every one of you guys. I love reading yourย comments and fangirling with you about books. You’re the best!
I am always striving to make my blog better, so please let me know if you have any advice or comments!
