Vicious

Vicious is one of those books I appreciated more in concept than in compulsive reading practice. I really liked the premise — morally gray characters, dark superpowers, revenge, and questions of what makes someone a hero or villain. The story was clever, the characters were layered, and the themes of power and corruption were compelling.

But despite all that, it took me two weeks to finish. Some parts were undeniably entertaining, but it never quite pulled me in and refused to let go the way I hoped. I’m honestly not sure if it was the book or just my reading mood, but by the end I wasn’t itching to immediately pick up the sequel. Still, it’s absolutely something I’d recommend to anyone who loves stories with anti-heroes, clever worldbuilding, and a darker twist on the superhero genre. Just be prepared — it might not be the kind of book that devours you back.
