System Collapse

System Collapse by Martha Wells
The Murderbot Diaries, #7
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

System Collapse continues everything I’ve come to expect (and love) from The Murderbot Diaries — dry humor, reluctant heroism, complicated feelings, and a lot of internal resistance to having any of them. As a direct follow-up to Network Effect, this book deepens the emotional fallout while moving the plot forward in subtle but meaningful ways. It doesn’t reinvent the series, but it does keep delivering exactly what I read these books for.

The pacing, tone, and voice all feel consistent with the previous entries, and it’s clear that Murderbot is still recovering from the events of the last novel. That weariness adds some weight to this installment, but not in a way that drags. I’m still loving this character, still laughing at the commentary, and still fully on board for wherever the series goes next. I’ll absolutely continue the series whenever the author is ready to give us more.
