What Doesn’t Break by Cassandra Khaw
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4.0)
What Doesn’t Break is haunting, atmospheric, and laced with slow-burning tension. The prose is beautiful—lyrical and dark—but it’s the atmosphere that stands out the most, drenching the story in unease and emotional weight. That said, the pacing felt sluggish at times, and a few elements pulled me out of the narrative, keeping this from being a full favorite.
If you’re in the mood for something eerie and emotionally heavy, with a focus on mood over momentum, this is a strong read. It wasn’t quite what I expected, but it lingered with me after I turned the last page.
