Rule of the Aurora King by Nisha Tuli
Artefacts of Ouranos, #2
⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (3.5)
The story shifts from deadly trials to political scheming in Rule of the Aurora King, moving the plot into a more courtly and strategic space. If you found book one predictable, this one won’t surprise you either—the twists are easy to spot coming. That said, the stakes are higher and the world begins to expand, though still without reaching a level of depth that makes it feel fully developed. The romantic tension remains a strong point, and certain dynamics continue to be compelling, even as some character motivations feel vague or underexplored.
While this sequel kept me reading, it lacks the urgency and pacing that made the first book a quicker read. The writing remains serviceable—nothing special, but enough to carry the story forward. It’s a solid continuation if you’re already invested in the series, but it doesn’t bring much freshness or complexity. A good second act, but not a standout on its own.
