FairyLoot Unboxing – Break the Curse (March 2020)

I enjoy reading the theme for the month and trying to guess what it might include or what books they’re referencing. For “Break the Curse” my first thought is Beauty and the Beast. Surprisingly, there was something from a series that’s based on Beauty and the Beast so my guess was correct! (I’m now at 1 wrong and 1 right.) What did you think of first?

Break the Curse

The Raven Cycle Headband

This headband is a silky material and even though I’m not the biggest Raven Cycle fan, I like this and might wear it this summer. I usually wear more headbands in the summer because I have bangs and they like being ridiculous after doing anything water-related, so it’s just easier to push them back in a headband.

A Curse So Dark and Lonely Book Sleeve

This is super pretty, even though I don’t need more book sleeves in my life. I will definitely keep this one, but I may have to go through my bookish box stuff and start posting on eBay.

The Cruel Prince/Holly Black Tumbler

Also gorgeous, but another thing I don’t need more of. I’ve found that the tumblers in book boxes are cheaper plastic and get whirls/distressed markings on them after one or two uses. Totally different from my Starbucks ones, which still look beautiful and I’ve used them a ton.

Caraval Lanyard

I love Caraval. I don’t understand lanyards. The only time I’ve had to use them is for a convention. So how many could I possibly need in my life… Do you guys use lanyards?

Nevernight Bookmarks and Sticker

I know there are people out there that are obsessed with this series, but I haven’t read it yet. Sorry. I just think that if you love the series (or Jay Kristoff, looking at you S) then you’d be pretty disappointed by the paper goods?

Heartless Passport Cover

This is a fun idea for a passport cover, it’s just… if you live in the United States (I can’t speak to anywhere else), our licenses are being replaced by Real IDs which take the place of passports – so I won’t ever get to use this! And that’s sad.

Letter from Fairyloot and Velaris Postcard Art

I love that they added a little note to talk about everything that’s been going on and I totally imagined Velaris looking like that!

Throne of Glass Tarot Cards – Aedion/Lysandra and Yrene/Chaol

Just look closely at Lysandra and tell me that’s not a pretty cool touch.

Bone Crier’s Moon by Kathryn Purdie

I love the art on the cover and how nicely the sprayed pages look, with their light springy green.

Author Letter and Art Print

My favourite item this month? The book, for sure. Followed closely by the tarot cards because they’re always amazing.

I loved the Velaris note they put in, was such a lovely thought.

I have to wear a lanyard at work with my ID so I’ll defo be using that when we can go back in the office.

I like the headband, though I’m not one to wear them. I used to wear them in high school and got made fun of (?) because headbands weren’t cool. Now massive headbands are all the rage and I have flashbacks whenever I see one. The sprayed edges on BCM are gorgeous.
