Weekly Wrap Up: April 20 – May 3

Sorry I haven’t been around at all guys… my grandma wasn’t doing well a few weeks ago (whenever my last post was) and I was there every single day with her. Unfortunately she passed Tuesday, so I haven’t really done anything with my blog, any reading, etc.

On a happier note my graduation ceremony is next Saturday, so even though I still have my capstone class this summer I technically will already have my degree this month and that’s crazy to think.

So it has been a crazy few weeks and I’m just trying to find a new normal, like I’m sure everyone is.

Books I Reviewed This Week:

Books I Read This Week:

Heart and Brain: An Awkward Yeti Collection

Heart and Brain: An Awkward Yeti Collection by Nick Seluk

Kyera, I am so sorry to hear about your grandmother. Was she ill for a long time or did this come on suddenly? It’s good you were able to be with her so much the last few days. 💕

Congrats on graduation, though! That’s very exciting.

Thanks. We found out that she had cancer about two-and-a-half years ago when the tumor grew so big it broke her hip… yikes. So she’d been going through radiation and chemo for most of that time but finally decided earlier this year that she was going to stop. We knew it was a matter of time, but one day it was just really bad so we knew. It was a week after that, but for about 5 of the days she was on morphine and never woke up. We just traded off holding her hand so she was never alone. Although we knew, it also felt like a never ending wake so it was tough just waiting and hoping that she wasn’t in pain.

Oh, Kyera. 💕 That is so, so tough to go through. I can’t imagine. She must have been a very strong woman to go through those two years of treatments and then to make the decision for herself that it was time to stop. I’m sending you and your family all my best.

Kyera, I’m so so so so so so so sorry about your grandmother. ♥️ I’m glad you were able to spend time with her, but it’s still an incredible loss. If you need anything, let me know, and I’m here for an ear and all the Disney pictures you need on Insta. Sending all the positive and hugs. ♥️♥️

Thank you. ♥️ It’s never great to lose someone close to you, but it’s especially tough because the world is so weird right now and you’re already having to adapt to so much. I feel like I haven’t really been myself, you know? I know most of my reading lately has been audiobooks because of my wacky commute, but now that I have been working from home I just haven’t gotten back into reading actual books.
