Where there any books that surprised you this year, either you wanted to love them and just… didn’t or they weren’t even on your radar and then you fell in love? Or anything that surprised you at all? That’s what I’ll try to figure out this week.
Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme that the lovely Bionic Bookworm does. If you are interested in doing any of her topics on your blog she welcomes it! Don’t forget to check out her upcoming topics if you’re interested in participating in future Top 5’s! Be sure to check out her topics here!
Surprising Reads of 2019:

Five Dark Fates by Kendare Blake
I enjoyed this series okay overall, but I actually really enjoyed this read?

Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson
I am biased, as a future librarian, but I loved this book and thank goodness because I have like three different versions of it.

Spin the Dawn by Elizabeth Lim
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book, although I wish the competition had been a bigger component because it felt a little rushed.

Grace and Fury by Tracy Banghart
I had no expectations going into this and I really enjoyed it!

The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi
Sometimes I’m not in the right headspace to read Chokshi’s usually poetic writing, but I loved this story and the characters!

What books surprised you most this month? Let me know in the comments!
