Apparently, everyone at my mom’s work was sick of seeing her face, so they basically told her to go on vacation somewhere. Since my library was closed on Tuesday and Wednesday for Independence Day, we decided to drive to New Hampshire for some quality time with nature. If you don’t like nature (*gasp*), you can scroll through the photos until you get to the proper book haul.

I went zip lining, which was amazing and 100% my favourite part of the trip. Then I did an aerial adventure park. You have to wear a harness and helmet, then climb over, around, through, etc a myriad course of ropes, planks, zip lines and ladders. Oh did I mention each level you progress through gets higher? It was fun, but zip lining tops it all.
Hello, same stranger from my group zipping backward! I hope to edit my GoPro footage soon so that I can have to some cool videos. But my goodness was it hot out there! After all of the activities, I just had to go swimming and then get ice cream. Yum!It was my first experience with AirBnb, but the place was only minutes from all the places I wanted to go, so that was nice. The second day I ventured to Flume Gorge in Franconia Notch National Park. It was formed thousands of years ago by glaciers and number of tenacious boulders.
It was so gorgeous hiking through the woods, but the various water features were my favourite. There was a waterfall, a 40-ft deep pool, water cascading over a rock tabletop and more.
I went swimming, again. Sadly not at the Gorge as that was not allowed, although that didn’t stop the water from just misting everywhere and making you feel like you half took a shower. After some climbing over and through rocks and caves, I sadly had to head back home.
To my surprise when I got home my mailbox was jammed full with six, count that six!!, individually sent books from Book Depository. I was excited and decided to do a (not so) quick haul post! So onward to the books!
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Gryffindor Edition) by J.K. Rowling
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (Ravenclaw Edition) by J.K. Rowling
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (Special Hardcover in Sleeve) by J.K. Rowling
Legendary (UK Edition) by Stephanie Garber
A Reaper at the Gates (UK Edition) by Sabaa Tahir
An Illustrated History of Notable Shadowhunters and Denizens of Downworld by Cassandra Clare
Do any of you collect the house specific editions of the Harry Potter books? Do you have a favourite book from this haul? Do you think I’m crazy for ziplining? Let me know in the comments below!

I’m glad you had so much fun. I’m hoping to zip line on a vacation soon. I haven’t had a chance to yet, but it’s on my list.

It was super weird. Just going into someone else’s space… plus it was super hot, they had a fan in the main area and one in the bedroom, but they were super weak and no screens on the windows. I melted.

Oh gosh. that doesn’t seem pleasant at all. Melting = not great. Even Olaf agrees.

YES. I actually wrote a paper once that she was the villain of the story in actuality. So perhaps we should talk with…someone less likely to accidentally freeze your heart.

Aww thank you! 💜I’ve also always wanted to go ziplining but no one would go with me! When my mom decided to take a mini-vacation, I knew I had to do it!

Your mom is a rock star. My mom would be praying for me in a corner while I ziplined lol XD She’s a rock star too…just very worrisome when it comes to extreme activities lol

Oh my mom is super afraid of heights/falling but once she had the harness on, and all 4 giant carabiners and ropes were attaching her to heavy duty cables – she felt better because she was so securely attached. The one time she got nervous was the highest one because we were up in a tree that was moving and she was afraid the tree would come down and no amount of carabiners would stop her from going with it.
