Although I have met a couple of authors, there are so many that I love and can only dream of meeting. This list is nowhere near comprehensive, but I tried to limit it to my five and not write about at least fourteen authors that I would love to meet.
Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme that the lovely Bionic Bookworm does. If you are interested in doing any of her topics on your blog she welcomes it! Don’t forget to check out her upcoming topics if you’re interested in participating in future Top 5’s! Be sure to check out her post here!
Authors I Would Like to Meet:
J.K. Rowling
She is obviously the dreamiest of dreams. Even though she is my favourite author, she is the person that I am most likely to never meet. I’d love to talk about everything writing with her, just everything.
Cassandra Clare
I must meet the destroyer of my heart. Seriously Cassie writes so many of my favourite ships and characters. It would be really cool to talk about writing magic and how she chose to incorporate which supernatural creatures in her books.
Rick Riordan
We would totally just sit there all day and fangirl over mythology. I feel like we’d be friends. I’d also like to talk about writing a hero’s epic journey and managing large casts of characters.
Marissa Meyer
Another writer of some of my favourite ships and characters, we must converse! And maybe I can convince her to write more TLC books. Plus I think it would be really interesting to talk character development with Marissa.
V.E. Schwab
I would love to just talk world building with Victoria, I think she would give such great advice.
Honourable Mention:
Leigh Bardugo
I’ve met Leigh before, but it was a very rushed signing situation and I said all of twenty words to her. If that. I’d love to have the opportunity to actually speak with her (although I will also probably only say twenty words, it’s a tough life). But I would love to just talk the craft with Leigh.
What authors have you met before? Which author would be your dream to meet? Let me know in the comments!

VE Schwab seems like such a genuinely interesting and all around amazing person to hang around with. Her writing style is something i have a hard time with but her premises are great and she just seems like such a great person!! Great list 🙂
Thanks so much for participating – added you to the list 🙂

She also puts an incredible amount of work into her world building, which I love! Plus you could probably chat with her in Scotland, which is a plus.

Oh I’m so jealous! I mean I’d be so awkward, but it’d be so cool to meet any of them.

These are great picks, Kyera! They are certainly some talented writers, and I’ve got my fingers crossed that one book day you will come across them. 😀

Well… I bought tickets in December to Book Con in NYC for June (although I don’t have a hotel) so that may be a reality soonish! I don’t know who is attending yet. I’m excited though!

OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. I’M SO EXCITED FOR YOU, KYERA. That’s like the ultimate. You’re going to have to update me so much about it. I’ve been telling myself that I need to figure out a con to go to, and that one always sounds so brilliant. Will it be your first time in NYC? And yes! Book Con always have so many amazing writers. And I have to believe Meyer and Bardugo will be there????

You should go to BookCon! Besides YallFest and YallWest, it’s probably the biggest/most we’ll known. I think those three are probably the biggest? I actually went to school directly across the river from NYC, so it took like 20-30 minutes to get to the subway and then into the city. Once of my college friends is still in NJ, so we’re meeting up at BookCon.

That’s what I’m thinking too. I’m so upset that I missed the one in Chicago a few years ago because at least that would have been cheaper. XD But oh cool! So you’re pretty familiar with the area. And that will be so much fun! Reconnecting and some book fun??? totally sounds like it’s going to be great. 😉

Yeah, I mean.. I’m not a big city person, at all, but it was nice being close and sometimes getting to see a musical for free because Student Activities gave away tickets or my parents would visit and go to a museum.

Oooooooh that’s super cool. That would be nice, but yeah, big cities are a certain kind of jam that isn’t mine either. XD
