Sometimes authors or publishers offer items for pre-orders, subscribing to their newsletter, or just because of a contest. You never know where or when they might occur, but if you’re lucky enough to win something it can be a fantastic addition to your collection. I mean really, can you ever have enough stuff related to your favourite book or character? I think not.
May was a fantastic month for releases and we were really lucky as readers to have so many cool pre-order promotions around. These are the gorgeous items that I received this month:
A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J Maas
A Map of Prythian – I love books with maps in them so getting this print that I could hang up on my wall? Fantastic.
Always and Forever, Lara Jean by Jenny Han
Nail decals, bow with book details on the back and signed bookplate – This was a tad bit underwhelming, but I’m excited to put the bookplate into my copy of Always.
Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare
Cassandra Jean’s Artwork on Postcards and a Rune Pin – I am absolutely in love with this. I saw some of the rune pins that people got at BookCon and am excited that I received one of my own! I am slightly confused though why out of every rune out there they decided to send people antidote. Can anyone enlighten me?
An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
Character Art Cards – These are gorgeous and I’m glad I finally have some art with Helene on it! When I was doing the Fight Like A YA Girl Tag I noticed that there just isn’t enough out there of her.
The Inexplicable Logic of My Life by Benjamin Alire San
Bookmark – Pretty simple, but I won this on Twitter so what can you expect?
What are some of your favourite pre-order promotion items or other bookish goodies you might have received from an author? Let me know in the comments below!

That map is just gorgeous. ❤ Love how they offered that. And even though I'm not into Shadowhunters (don't hate me), that swag is so cool! 😀 Wonderful post, Kyera!

Thanks Mandy. I can’t wait to hang it in my new library. Wait you don’t like Shadowhunters? 😱 How did I not know this about you… I promise I don’t hate you, but oh man…

Yes, yes, that will be the perfect addition!! ❤ And I don't not like them per say. I did really, really enjoy the Infernal Devices, but I think I got spoiled so much on the regular Shadowhunters (my best friend loves it and basically decided to give me a whole synopsis of the ENTIRE series one day) that I felt that I basically read it so…I never got into it. XD But I liked Infernal?? XD

Oh nooooooooo it’s like reading Sparknotes or watching the movie, it’s not the same!

Okay, I’ll definitely have to get my butt in gear on actually reading the books. XD I watched the movie and I did like that, and I remember getting all excited and then dying on it again. XD

Yaaaaaass 💜 as long as the plan is eventually, I’m happy! And remember, the writing just keeps getting better so by the time you read Lady Midnight and Lord of Shadows you’ll probably be totally obsessed.

Oooooooooooooh, okay. I’m excited for that then. 😀 I’ve heard that Lord of Shadows and so superb and I felt your excitement even though I hadn’t read Lady Midnight. XD

On an unrelated note, I saw Frogkisser at the library earlier and remembered seeing it on your blog a lot and borrowed it.

Ahhhhhhh yesssssssssss! ❤ It's sooooo cute, Kyera. A bit more middle grade than YA if that's okay with you, but it's so adorable and quirky. I think you will super enjoy, and I seriously canNOT wait to see your thoughts! ❤

I have a few books I have to review for authors and one blog tour, but after that I’m excited to start the book!
