Artefacts of Ouranos Series by Nisha J. Tuli
⭐️⭐️✨ (2.5)
(For narration | Story ratings vary across books)
Listening to the Artefacts of Ouranos series on audio was, unfortunately, more frustrating than immersive. While the story itself has its highs and lows – starting with a fast-paced, tropey setup and ending with a rushed finale – the audiobook narration actively detracted from the experience. The female narrator’s delivery was particularly grating for me; her performance lacked emotional nuance and often flattened scenes that should’ve had impact. The male narrator was marginally better but still didn’t enhance the characters or pacing.
Across four long books, this only became more noticeable. Instead of helping me sink into the story, the audiobook format often made me feel disconnected or even irritated. I found myself enjoying the books more when reading digitally versus listening, which says a lot. If you’re thinking of picking up this series, I’d highly recommend skipping the audio and opting for the eBook or physical copy instead.
