The 5 W’s Book Tag

Basically, Shanah did this tag two years ago and it’s been sitting in my drafts folder. I promised you guys that I would catch up on my tags. So here is another tag:

WHO? Who is an author you’d love to have a one on one with?

Leigh Bardugo. I’d love to talk writing and craft with her, her books, and anything witchy. I think she’s so amazing (and would be super cool in a totally nerdy way) that I’d love to talk to her. But it would need to be after casually hanging out a few times, because I am not an outgoing person and I would not talk to her the first time. I’ve met her twice and it’s more like thank you for the picture and telling her how to pronounce my name (she remembered signing it before). Thrilling, right?

WHAT? What genre or style do you most gravitate to?

Always fantasy. I read other things, but then when you look at my shelves it’s 95% fantasy.

WHERE? Where do you prefer to read?

I still haven’t found the perfect place to read. Since most of my reading time is in my car while driving, I don’t get many opportunities to just sit and read an actual book. I tend to just lay on my bed while reading graphic novels. I love taking a book to the beach or park with me and just sitting on the ground reading.

WHEN? What time of the day do you prefer to read?

I try reading before bed, but I’m usually too tired and put it down pretty quickly. There’s always that rare book that just devours me and I can’t put it down even hours after I planned to go to bed. So afternoons are probably my preferred time, usually mornings are for being more productive like writing blog posts or reviews.

WHY? Why is your favourite book your favourite book?

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone was the book that my mom read to me before bed as a kid. It introduced me to a more advanced version of fantasy than many of the children’s books out there. It was longer, had more meaningful conflict, etc. And I read it more than 40 times in elementary school, once I could read it by myself.

BONUS! How do you go about selecting what you’ll read next?

Definitely more of a mood reader. I will have about 10 different options and even then sometimes they won’t work and I’ll pick something totally different. Or I’ll start one because I think it’s what I want and then I’m just not feeling it. I feel like I’m in a reading mood right now that I can’t figure out, because I haven’t been able to focus on any books right now so I’ve gotten nothing read.

Shanah did this so long ago, I have no idea who has done this tag and who hasn’t – so if you haven’t, I tag you!

Thanks for reading!

Usually fantasy is my go to genre as well but these days I’m leaning more towards romance to comfort me as everything is way too much and just so stressful.

Totally agree! I’ve been leaning towards graphic novels personally.
