Books I’d Save From A Fire – Top 5 Tuesday

I mean, obviously all of them? But which books do I own that either have a strong memory associated with them or can’t be replaced… that’s tough.

Lady Midnight - The Dark Artifices 1 (Hardback)

I purchased this Waterstones edition, which was personally signed by Cassandra Clare and only 1,000 copies were printed.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling

I discovered these leather bound Harry Potter books one day on eBay which have a printed signature inside them from J.K. Rowling. They were definitely special editions, but since they probably came out when I was still a kid I didn’t know about them so I don’t have much information. All I know is that they’re pricey in general on eBay so that must mean they’re special? Plus it’s the closest I’ll probably ever get to actually having Rowling’s signature.

But also, my original Harry Potter books… like the ones I’ve had since they came out. They have been read and loved so many times.

I really can’t choose any more because it’s like putting me in a room full of puppies and then saying, choose one. Seriously? One? But they’re puppies, I NEED THEM ALL. So I picked a few special books but I can’t narrow it down any better than this so my last two are just ALL DA BOOKS. That’s my answer and I’m sticking to it.

      Yeah, it’s so sad though because I think they only made the first two (and my Chamber copy is soooo damaged, but it was the only way I could afford one). It’s always been my dream to have an entire set of the series in fancy leather bound edition form.

      Hahaha yeah it was soo tough to decide which ones needed to be saved most. I felt like by picking so many Harry Potter books I couldn’t then pick four other options, so I only went with one. Do you have books that you immediately know you’d save from a fire?

        I’d say Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. That book always cheers me up, so I think it would be good to make me not bawl my eyes out completely after seeing my house burn down 😅

      Yeah, when I saw that it was still available I knew I had to have it! It was just luck that I discovered it shortly after it was released.

    Oh God, I think if there was a fire, I’d spend so much time flapping my hands around my bookshelves trying to decide what to save that I’d definitely end up accidentally letting them all burn. Saying that, it’s probably got to be HP 3 for sentimental reasons, and ACOTAR which was signed and personalised in a really cute and meaningful way by SJM.

    Oddly enough, I have thought about this on more than one occasion, and it’s HARD. Like, how do you choose which ones to grab and what to leave behind because they’re all amazing??? But I for sure can see just grabbing all the signed ones since it’s certainly harder to re get those. Wonderful list, Kyera! 🙂

      I hadn’t thought about it, so it was a struggle. I looked at my post at least six different times and then just closed it because I didn’t know what to put. Haha.
