Honestly, there was a whole vampire-thing in YA and I love vampires so I read this.. but looking back they probably weren’t very good and since I never finished the series at the time (mostly because they weren’t all out yet) I realized that I probably never will. I mean I read some of these in middle school and some in high school, it has just been too long and I probably wouldn’t enjoy the writing quality now.

Series I Won’t Be Finishing:
Bloodlines by Richelle Mead
I think I read the first book, but then I didn’t remember and tried to read it again… wasn’t really feeling it so I probably won’t ever actually read the series.
House of Night by P.C. and Kristin Cast
I definitely read some of these but then I realized that they weren’t written particularly well, or the jumped the shark, I honestly don’t recall at this point – but I stopped reading them and doubt I’ll ever pick them back up.
Blue Bloods by Melissa de la Cruz
Again, I think I realized that I wasn’t a fan of the writing and just fell off the series at some point.
The Morganville Vampires by Rachel Caine
This one just went on for too long and again, probably jumped the shark so I stopped reading it.
The Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith
This one is definitely the writing quality, it’s just not great in my opinion so I won’t be finishing this series.
What series have you decided not to finish? Which of my choices do you agree with, or think I should wholeheartedly reconsider? Let me know in the comments!
Sounds like vampire series can’t hold your interest! lol

Haha yeah… maybe when I was a clueless middle school or high schooler? But now, nope!

The House of Night series has made its way on SO many lists! I think I read about 4 or 5 books before I gave up on it. When I was in my early 20’s I thought they were great! But as the books went on, I got more and more bored!
Thanks for participating – added you to the list 🙂

Yeah, that’s probably about when I fell off but I honestly don’t recall anymore. I just remember them getting weird and then super confusing, so I think I missed one or two and then gave up.

Ya it did get weird. And went in circles after a while!

Hahaha I thought I didn’t have series I did not finish (as in abandoned reading without hope of resuming) but you just proved me wrong with The House of Night, Blue Blood and Vampire Academy! My post all went through the drain 😉

Haha I really had to think and then realize that I probably fell off the bandwagon on books that I never even think of now. This list took me a while to think of.

The House of Night series is on my list too. I got through to the ninth book but that was about 6-7 years ago and I honestly don’t even know how I got that far!

Wow that’s probably further than I got!

LOL, loved the vampire theme! I won’t be continuing with these either. The House of Night series was the biggest mess I’ve seen in such a long time. I don’t know why I kept reading them even though I knew they were terrible as a child. Do you know what book you left off at? Wonderful post, Kyera! ❤

I remember the girls friend changed in someway and then the next thing I knew she was in charge of all of the changed vampires and I was very confused.

Ahahahahaha did you make it to bird man that stevie rae was in love with? I use that as a qualifier for it.

Oh my gosh that’s her name it was killing me. I didn’t want to call her the southern one. I could only think of Zoe. I remember Neferet wanting this evil guy, was that him? I remember he had wings.. I think.

Ahahahahahah! I don’t know why but her name has been forced into my brain. Oh, yeah, I think he was the god thing. But no, this was this guy whose name began with a “r” and he was like this weird bird man hybird???

I may have read that but completely blocked it out of my memory like probably 90% of what happened and that I honestly don’t recall at this point.

Ahahahahaha. I just had to ask since that was the point where it lost all…well it certainly never had any credibility. XD

Bahaha it almost makes me want to read just to know – but I also know it would be like Soul Screamers for you. Present me to past me: what on earth were you thinking?

Ahahahahaha I have a few horrible books that I’m still horribly curious about. I mean, I really do want to know who Zoe finally finally got together with because she had like five boyfriends at one point. XD But seriously, we have important questions for past us.

Totally! You could always google it?

That would be the best option for us all, so we don’t have to actually read it, LOL. My friend found this website once that had summaries of books, and I think I need to get her to give me that website url so I can look it up.

That’s a good idea, I actually just did that to refresh myself for the Fates Divide. The audiobook for that came in so much faster than Carve the Mark, so I ended up just deciding to read a summary.

I feel like I need to start doing that a lot more for other books since I keep running out of time to reread books. It did help quite a bit to get through it?

Yeah, re-familiarized myself with everything.
