Weekly Wrap Up: September 11 – 17

I attempted to sew this week and it did not go as planned. I swear I followed the directions but the romper I’m trying to make ( a Disneybound for my trip to Disney, yay!) just does not look right… and it also looks huge… so I am definitely going to have to try again. Unfortunately.

In other news, the Doctors still don’t know what type of cancer my grandma but she’s amazing and it doing really well with physical therapy.

I decided that I wanted to re-read the series before I tackled Tower of Dawn since it has been so long since I inhabited that world. Review to come.

The Summer I Became a Nerd by Leah Rae Miller

I wanted to see what Mandy from Book Princess Reviews was raving about all the time – and she was right, this was definitely a cute, nerdy contemporary romance. Review to come.

You get to read so many books – I’m so jealous! ๐Ÿ™‚

I don’t like audiobooks anywhere near as much as reading an actual book but sometimes you’re just busy cleaning, driving, whatever and audiobooks are a great way to be able to continue reading even if you don’t have the opportunity to sit down and read so that’s what I’ve tried to do more recently. I love reading more than anything else so I try to devote as much time as I can to it. ๐Ÿ’œ

Maybe I should give audio books a go for when I’m driving. Where do you recommend getting them from?

Definitely! I usually get mine from the library. You can either request the CDs or go on the library’s ezone (Overdrive) and they have a pretty good selection. I like Overdrive because it downloads right on my phone so I can listen in my room, then take it into the car, unlike the CDs which are less mobile. Plus.. It’s great because it doesn’t cost money. I don’t know if you have a kindle/buy kindle books, but sometimes you can get a discount on the audible/audiobook because you bought the kindle version. I’ve done that a few times when the audio was less than $6 or so.

Amazing, I’m going to look into this to see if there is a convenient and inexpensive way of getting new releases on audio books. Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚

I really like how you started this off with misadventures in sewing… I can definitely relate! Which Disney are you off to? World, Land, Tokyo, Paris, another? Huge Disney geek here. ๐Ÿ˜

Haha yeah… I’m hoping my mom can help me fix it. Heading to Disney World, I’m so excited! (Also a huge Disney geek.) I’ve always wanted to go to the ones outside the US but haven’t yet.

I love Disney World! I can’t speak for Europe, but I think the Orlando park is fantastic. Have fun!

Yeah, we were supposed to go earlier this month but my mom and I didn’t want to leave her.. then the hurricane bumped the dates again, so ๐Ÿคž – I’m excited!

The Oncologists we’ve spoken to believe that it is cancer, but at the same time they’re baffled and don’t exactly know what it is. Thanks love.

Well if the oncologists can’t figure it out then maybe there’s still hope that it’s now. I can dream for you right?

Glad to hear your grandma is doing well, and hopefully the doctor can figure it out soon! And oh no about the romper! D: That doesn’t sound good, but I’m sure the second time will be the charm! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Fantastic wrap-up, Kyera! ๐Ÿ™‚

I definitely sewed the bottom part about 4 times and had to cut the stitches because the directions confused me and I was folding it the wrong way. Difficult to explain… but I’m hoping my mom will help me soon since we leave on Monday!
