Monthly Wrap Up and TBR (June-July)

I officially hit my unofficial Peace Corps book reading goal this month – I have read over 300 books in the 27 months that I was here!

Books I Read in June:

Camp Half-Blood Confidential by Rick Riordan

This is the perfect book for you if you’ve ever wanted to know about the demi-god camp through the eyes of its campers and a really enthusiastic geyser spirit. You can read my review here.

Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare

I have so much love for this series, if you haven’t read it yet please do. You can read my review here.

Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare

The conclusion was so incredible and if you haven’t read this series before, please go do so now. You can read my review here.

Windfall by Jennifer E. Smith

This was a cute contemporary and a great read for the summer. I’ve never read a book about someone winning the lottery, especially not a young adult novel so this was an interesting premise. Check out my review here!

Image result for tales from beedle the bard

The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J.K. Rowling

I’ve been so excited to re-read Harry Potter this month, but the Wizarding World Book Club still hasn’t provided any further information… so I decided to read this for now (and probably Quidditch Through the Ages Next). Be sure to read my review here.

Image result for im not your manic pixie dream girl

I’m Not Your Manic Pixie Dream Girl by Gretchen McNeil

This was a cute learning about yourself/coming of age novel. You can read my review here..

Image result for eliza and her monsters

Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia

I absolutely fell in love with this book (legitimately read it in one late night sitting) and you can check out my review here!

Image result for kill all happies

Kill All Happies by Rachel Cohen

I wanted to love it with it’s (abandoned) theme park setting.. Alas, this one just didn’t speak to me, but you can check out my review here.

Image result for one of us is lying

One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus

This was a fun mystery that reminded me of the Breakfast Club and Pretty Little Liars. I really enjoyed reading it, you can check out my review here!

Image result for when dimple met rishi

When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon

This was such a cute book and I loved the diverse representation in it. It is so nice to see more POC main characters in YA books. You can read my review here.

Image result for the geek's guide to unrequited love

The Geek’s Guide to Unrequited Love by Sarvenaz Tash

I loved that this book took place at NYCC because it spoke to my fandom loving heart. You can read my review here!

Alex and Eliza by Melissa de la Cruz

This was an adorable YA historical fiction based upon the (know well known) romance between Alexander Hamilton and Eliza Schuyler โ€“ you can read my review here.

Image result for a crown of wishes

A Crown of Wishes by Roshani Chokshi

I ended up liking this book a lot more than a Star-Touched Queen, but you can check out my review and thoughts here.

Image result for everything everything

Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon

This book was so cute, frustrating and really.. everything. You can read my review here.

Image result for amina's voice

Amina’s Voice by Hena Khan

This was a cute middle grade book about friends, family, religion and being yourself in the modern world. You can read my review here.

Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher

After watching the Netflix show, I knew I wanted to read the book and see how the show compared. You can read my review next week.

The Circle by David Eggers

I still don’t even know what to thing.. You can read my review next week.

The Wizarding World book club finally started, so I just re-read the first book from my favourite series yesterday!! I may write a little review for it, but seriously what can I say about the Queen? I’ll feel like nothing does it justice.

Books I Plan to Read in July (or am excited about publishing in July):

Image result for our dark duet

Our Dark Duet by Victoria Schwab

I have the first book sitting on my shelf just waiting to be read, so in all likelihood, I will read it once I get home in July. But I am excited that it’s coming out this month!

Image result for gentlemans guide to vice and virtue

The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee

This book sounds intriguing so it’s definitely on my TBR – let’s see if I get to it. I have a big list of books I expect to read this month!

Image result for daughter of the burning city

Daughter of the Burning City by Amanda Foody

This book is so pretty and it’s about a circus – so yes please!

17347384

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling

I don’t know how quickly the Wizarding World book club plans to read the books in the series, so I may or may not be re-reading this next month. To be honest, I’ll probably become tired of waiting and just read them all at once.

KYERA, I HAVE RUN OUT OF SAILOR MOON MANGA FROM THE FIRST GROUPING AND I’M NOW JUST SITTING HERE ASKING MYSELF WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH MY LIFE? XD Since I know you’re in the spiral, I just had to update you on my new struggle. How are you doing with it?

Nooooooooo! You can find it on the web. That’s what I ended up having to do because I couldn’t get it from my library. (But this country has terrible internet/data and they take forever to download, so I’ve only gotten to read the first one thus far. Sadly.) Write Sailor Moon fanfic! Or draw fan art if you’re good at drawing!

Oh no! Sorry Kyera. ;/ Only a few more days, though, right, and then you can carry on with the amazingness? But okay, this sounds smart. โค Thank you for showing reason in my book hangover time. XD

Yeah, I’ll be home next Saturday ๐Ÿ’œ and that reminds me.. I should request the manga physically from my library so it’s waiting in my room when I get home! I may try to download them when I’m at Peace Corps though so I can read them on my flight. (It’s about 18 hours from when I leave the capital to go to the airport until the time, I hope, I get home.)

Book hangovers are tough, sometimes you need some outside perspective.

YAYYYYYYYY! ๐Ÿ˜€ That will be fun, but also, so much yes! XD That will be brilliant to just have them waiting. And oh dear gosh, yeah, I can imagine you will want something in that time period. D:

And lol, yes. They’re quite rough since all you can think about is one singular thing. XD
